Scott Buck is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and an independent contractor who provides counselling and coaching services.
Scott works from a person-centred framework that emphasizes collaboration, trust and a deep respect for client autonomy throughout the therapeutic process. He has an awareness of the intersectionality between structural factors and oppression and individual mental health. He expresses unconditional acceptance of his clients and their challenges. Scott has experience working with marginalized communities of varying cultures, races, religious backgrounds, and sexual orientations. Scott identifies as a member of the Queer community.
Scott adopts a flexible approach to counselling and seeks to match technique to his client’s specific goals. He incorporates techniques from strength and resilience based therapy, solution-focused therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy, and has experience using motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based practices, and trauma informed care in his work with clients. As a former fitness professional, he has an understanding of the role nutrition and physical activity play in symptom management. Scott works with clients experiencing depression, anxiety disorders, survivors of abuse and neglect, addiction, identity issues and personality disorders.
